Inventory of Heritage Development Projects, Romania 2003
The Aspera Foundation announces that it will carry out a Heritage Development Project in Romania. The primary mission of this project is to inventory and document who is doing what in the field of cultural heritage preservation in Romania. Such information has not yet been catalogued in one accessible location nor has it been disseminated for general public use. This project intends to remedy this information gap and to provide context and clarity in identifying actual and potential projects, sponsors, and critical funding sources.
Initial activities will include interviewing principal involved parties, travel to regions of interest, visiting targeted heritage sites and general research and information gathering. Key players will include national governmental entities, non-governmental organizations, private organizations and foundations, as well as external multinational, national and private institutions. Potential outcomes resulting from this research may include a public access database available via the Internet, on websites such as Memoria.ro, articles or reports, the topic of contents of which would be determined following completion of the project.
