The Restorer (Restauratorul) la FIFA, Montreal

The Restorer, de Sorin Iliesiu, a castigat premiul Uniunii Cineastilor din Romania pentru filme de scurt metraj, decernat pe 28 februarie 2003.

Aspera Foundation (USA) and VideoDialog (Romania) have the pleasure of
announcing that on February 28, 2003, the Romanian Union of Film Directors
declared their awards for films produced in the year 2002.

„The Restorer,” a film directed by Sorin Iliesiu, is the winner of the top
prize for short films. Sponsored by the Aspera Foundation, the film is
accessible in short clips on the Foundation’s website .

The Jury included:
President – Irina Petrescu;
Members – Stefan Antonescu, Dr.Elisabeta Bostan (prof.univ.), Nicolae Cabel,
Cristina Corciovescu, Dr.Manuela Cernat (prof.univ.), Viorel Domenico,
Dr.Florin
Mihailescu (prof.univ.), and Victoria Marinescu.

The prizes were announced by Mihnea Gheorghiu, President of the Union of
Romanian Film Directors and Member of the Romanian Academy.

Filmul a fost selectat si pentru Festivalul International al Filmului de Arta din Montreal, Canada, unde va fi prezentat la sectiunea „Traiectorii” la Canadian Centre of Architecture, in 22 martie 2003 la ora 14:00. In editia 2002 a acestui festival Sorin Iliesiu a prezentat filmul „Un pictor de biserici”. La realizarea ambelor filme a fost esentiala contributia domnului Dan Dimancescu, prin Fundatia Aspera.
